An Elegy On the death of Mr. Harfield Lyndsey, Aged 26 years.

[Enfield, Massachusetts]: [Printed by Solomon Howe], 1838. Single leaf measuring 9 x 8.75", printed to recto with text in two columns with decorative border. A broadside printing a pair of poems memorializing Harfield Lyndsey. One of the poems, "An Acrostic," is attributed to Samuel Dunn, aged 91 years 7 months. According to one source, "Very little has survived of what Howe printed between 1826, the last year in which he issued an almanac, and 1844, the last year of entries in his printing accounts. Indeed, most extant items are broadsides like the two just discussed" ("John Howe of Greenwich and Enfield," in Gura, "Crossroads of American Literature," 133). Broadside damp stained and toned.
