Creole Cajun Cooking Cards from an old New Orleans Bag

New Orleans: [Pelican Publishing Company], 1974. A collection of 23 printed "cards", each measuring 10 x 4.75", in a printed grocery paper "bag". Collection of cajun-creole recipes by a prominent New Orleans television host and avid cook. The recipes include jambalayas, gumbos, pies, "dirty rice", grillades, and more, and contain historical information and provenance where possible, including "Great Grammaw Flettrich" and Antonia Maret, "a Creole Negro." The author starred on the popular children's show "Mrs. Muffin", where, according to a local paper, she played "Mrs. Muffin, who lived in an old-fashioned cottage and whose activities ranged from reading favorite fairy tales to showing children how to make puddings." Couple of card corners creased, bag with some wear and a couple of tears. Item #7029
