Bien Venida To La Villita (Pronounced Vee-Yee-Tah) The Little Spanish Town of San Antonio

San Antonio: Allied Printing Trades Council, 1940s. Folding brochure with four panels on each side. Illustrated informational brochure about the newly restored La Villita, a historic Spanish village in downtown San Antonio. The brochure provides a history of the neighborhood, the first in San Antonio, as well as a description of the efforts by the city government, in conjunction with the WPA, to restore the dilapidated site during the construction of the nearby San Antonio riverwalk. The brochure appears to have been issued soon after the site's reopening in the 1940s, noting that "La Villita and its facilities are now available to any civic group, organization or individual that wishes to have a convention, dance or entertainment. In one year more than 74,000 people have used La Villita and its facilities." In excellent condition with a hint of creasing and toning. Item #5842
