Moorcroft, Wyoming: 1913. Handwritten letter, 2pp, written on a large page detached from a ledger, signed "Jess". Together with envelope. Letter written by a settler in Moorcroft, in the Black HIlls of Wyoming, offering a detailed description of the area and the work available there: "well as you wanted to know what kind of a country it is I will try and tell you the bes I can it is a little rolling...is is all sage brush it is about 10 miles to the mountains and is plenty of pine there are a little farming going on hear but not much mostly sheep and cattle...there is plenty of work hear my brother is working in the oil wells they are only about 12 miles from hear ge gets $60 dollars a month and board I have got a good job this summer I am going to run a ranch. Page toned, left hand margin trimmed with slight loss to first letter of text on some lines. Item #5029
