Various Places: 1951-1952. String tied album binding measuring 12.5 x 8.75", containing 100 photographs. This album of nicely taken and well captioned photographs documents the Air Force service of J.B. Gray, beginning with 36 photographs of various western training camps including Camp Sheppard in Wichita Falls, Texas (17 images), Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas (7 images), Camp Marana in Tucson, Arizona (2 images), and Camp Lowry in Colorado (7 images). This section contains interesting and candid images of soldiers' lives inside barracks and mess halls--lounging, getting dressed, spoon feeding each other in the yard, standing in line at the Thanksgiving Buffet line, cleaning the showers (captioned "G.I. Party"), etc. The next sequence of the album contains 36 images of a ski trip to Winter Resort, Colorado, followed by 35 photographs of Gray's military service in France, including photos the "Tent City" at Chatoreaux, shots of the Troop school at Leon, and images of Gray's travels around the country.
