Bethany, West Virginia: Circa 1920. Octavo, stiff green cloth wrappers with blue lettering, 131 pp. A cookbook by members of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority at Bethany College in West Virginia. Begins with a portrait of the chapter, a view of the college, and an advertisement for the school. Recipes are attributed, and include pineapple skillet cake, tomato honey, Honeyed Steak (Seattle Style), American Beauty Salad, pimento butter, Kentucky Sweet Potatoes, and "Japanese Way of Cooking Rice." With two pages of early manuscript recipes on the rear blanks, and a mimeographed recipe pasted to rear pastedown. Not in OCLC. Staining and wear to covers, gift inscription to front endpaper, staining and spattering, mainly to first 40 or so pages. Item #15752
