Aunt Chick’s Pies. Recipes compiled-Methods Developed Non-Stick Pastry Canvas and Crispy Crust Pie Pan.
Tulsa, Oklahoma: The Chicadees, 1954. Softcover measuring 8 x 5.5", original orange wraps, side stapled, titles to front cover in black, 50 pp. The author, Nettie McBirney, wrote a regular cooking column for The Tulsa World for nearly 20 years. She was known for her no-stress approach, especially when it came to baking, and she marketed her own bake ware line, claiming she could “teach any woman to cook a good pie in 5 minutes or less if they used her equipment and followed her fool proof instructions.” This book appears to been part of her Non-Stick Pastry kit and was first published in the late 1930s, though this appears to be an expanded edition with around a dozen more pages than the earlier editions. Damp staining to upper corner of front wrap and first leaf, chip to other upper corner of front wrap, some foxing. Item #15614
