"This book embodies several original and commendable features, among which may be mentioned the menus for Special Dinners and Luncheons...and the explanations in regard to the preparation of an article are explicit, so as to appeal even to the most inexperienced" (Introduction). With recipes for Kentucky Eggs, crabapple cheese balls, Kentucky Burgoo, creole soup, Salad--Kentucky Special, Ginger Ale Julip, claret punch, raw beef, and punch more.
