Los Angeles: Circa 1930s. Small octavo, printed green wraps, photographs throughout, 24pp, illustrations from photographs. A cookbook by the proprietress of a Los Angeles health food store who specialized in milling her own fresh, whole wheat grains. Jones began milling in the back of a small coffee shop she ran in Pasadena, before expanding and, with the help of her husband, opening Jones Health Food Stores Inc. The health recipes within highlight the use of fresh grains and flour, including Dextrinized Wheat Cereal, whole wheat chowder, health salad, bran fruit bread, vegetarian steak, whole wheat pilau, vegetable tamale loaf, and Bonwheat Health Cookies. The last two pages print a price sheet for the shop, including spices and daily ground grains. UCSD and Kansas State only in OCLC.
