A scarce community cookbook published alongside the the Panama-California Exposition, held in San Diego in 1915. The book was compiled by the Ladies Aid Society of Fairmount Methodist Episcopal Church in East San Diego. Recipes are attributed. One section is entirely devoted to tamale recipes, printing instructions for preparing five types of tamales. There are also four recipes for eggless cake, plus recipes for Spanish Spaghetti, chili con carne, "Soda Bread as Made in Ireland", prune pudding, whole wheat pudding, pepper hash and more. UCSD and San Diego State only in OCLC. Creasing, wear and staining to wrappers, mild damp staining and spattering to pages, some pencil and ink annotations, owner inscriptions to title page and front wrapper verso, a good copy.
