San Jose: 1852. Single leaf measuring 12 x 8.25", printed to recto only. A rare broadside announcing an auction of the estate and lands of Rufus Kittridge of Santa Clara County, California, signed in type by sheriff and public administrator John Yontz. Among the items to be sold were "one horse; one cart and harness; some wheat, and articles of Household Furniture, &c. Also, all the right, title and interest of Rufus Kittridge in and to a claim made by him...supposed to be on lands claimed by the heirs of Alviso." The latter is a reference to Juan Ignacio Alviso, a Mexican American ranchero who owned a large Mexican land grant in present day Santa Clara. Yale only in OCLC.
