Photograph Album Belonging to a Philadelphia Nursing Student

Philadelphia: 1923 to 1927. Photo album binding measuring 11.5 x 7.5", containing 118 pasted in photographs, together with 41 loose photographs, accompanied by handwritten captions in white ink on album leaves. Overall in very good condition, with one photo missing. A well annotated photograph album compiled by an unknown Philadelphia nursing student. The compiler graduated with the class of 1926 at Philadelphia Episcopal Hospital, and the album contains many images from her "Probie Days" there between 1923 and 1926, including shots of nurses, staff, doctors, and patients, including photographs of Christmas in the children's ward. The album also contains photographs from the compiler's time working at Germantown Hospital in Philadelphia, as well as six pages of handwritten lyrics for class songs. Additionally, the album includes a series of family photographs; in total, we count 107 photographs related to nursing, and 52 family photos. Item #10047
